**ISEC 641 - Governance and Risk Management**

Information security strategy and its alignment with business goals. Business cases for information security investment. Legal and regulatory requirements. Roles and responsibilities in information security management. Security risk assessment and management.

**Mentoring of student projects using "office hours by appointment" may be required through to December 24, 2024,** and all student work is expected to be received by that date.

**Instruction Mode**: This course will be offered in a blended mode with students participating in a combination of synchronous and asynchronous instruction for the entire duration of the month.

**Sessional Contract Dates**:Monday, November 25, 2024, to Tuesday, December 24, 2024

**Qualifications**:Qualifications of particular interest are:

- Professional experiences in IT security governance and risk management.
- Working knowledge of IT security management and assessment standards such as ISO 27001/27002, NIST 800-53, etc.
- Management experiences related to IT security. Experiences in teaching governance and risk management in a higher education setting.
- Current curriculum vitae.
- Concise statement of teaching philosophy.

**NOTE**:Applicants who have taught as a sessional instructor in the Faculty of Science within the past two years may choose to only submit a cover letter and current CV. Multiple positions may be filled by this posting.
