Reporting to the Executive Board of Directors, the Sponsorship Development Officer (SDO) will identify, plan and implement revenue generation strategies for fundraising priorities consistent with overall revenue generation and campaign plans. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Working in consultation with the Executive Directors and Manager in developing a plan consistent with the overall campaign and fundraising plans to achieve assigned fundraising targets
Identifying and executing prospect strategies for solicitation of donors as well as special appeals (such as Women’s Intuition awards) and third party opportunities
Building and stewarding philanthropic relations with individuals, foundations and corporations in the communities served by the Society to contribute to achievement of fundraising targets
Working with staff in prospect research and developing proposals and other solicitation documents
Developing case statements, call plans, briefing notes and proposals as required for use in fundraising strategy, volunteer enlistment, gift cultivation and solicitation, and in overall fundraising awareness activities
Developing sponsorship packages, identifying and securing sponsors for sponsorship opportunities up to $50K, and ensuring fulfillment of sponsorship agreements
Researching funding opportunities and securing contributions
Providing regular briefings on assigned areas of campaigns and other fundraising projects
Developing and managing a prospect pool based on fundraising priorities and projects
Collaborating in developing and executing individual donor recognition and stewardship plans
Assisting with preparation and briefing of the Executive Director, Vice President, and members as well as key campaign volunteers for donor visits
Communicating regularly with other staff members to coordinate the management of prospects and to ensure the prospect pipeline is utilized for fundraising success
Developing and maintaining an in-depth knowledge of the Society’s fundraising priorities and needs in order to match the interests and needs of prospective donors with the strategic needs of the college

Successfully completed three years of postsecondary education in a relevant field of study that may include, but is not limited to, Fundraising, Business, Marketing, or Communications
Three years’ experience of professional major gift / campaign fundraising
Experience in prospect identification, qualification, cultivation and solicitation
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with advancement programs and giving vehicles, including major gift cultivation initiatives, donor recognition and stewardship events, donor marketing and communications
Demonstrated ability in building philanthropic relations with individuals, foundations and corporations
Experience in writing various proposals and gift agreement development
Demonstrated ability to work well with colleagues as well as a wide range of constituents including donors, board members, volunteers, external stakeholders
Demonstrated ability with problem-solving, analysis and displaying creativity
Experience in demonstrating confidentiality, objectivity, political awareness, planning, business acumen and financial accountability
Demonstrated evidence of integrity, honesty, tact and discretion
Advanced computer skills with demonstrated knowledge in Microsoft Suite (Word / Excel)
Professional communication skills (visual, verbal, public speaking and written)
Excellent public relations and networking skills with experience in conducting public presentations.
