We are currently looking to hire a dietary aide for our facility. Experience working in a retirement/personal care home is preferred.

Working with and reporting to our executive chef, our dietary aids will have duties including and not limited to:
**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Setting up, preparing, serving and the associated clean up concerning meal services in the Residence.
- Offering warm and professional service to our residents and their guests
- Assisting with preparing and serving beverages, salads, and desserts as well as the plating and serving of entrees.
- Keeping our dining room promptly set, served, cleared, clean, and sanitized.
- Delivering tray service to the rooms of our residents as required.
- Aiding with the cleaning of dishware, glassware, and cutlery at the conclusion of mealtimes.
- Assisting with the cleaning of kitchen wares and the overall cleanliness of the kitchen.
- Be actively engaged with our residents during themed and special events.
- Welcome our new dietary aid hires and help them in achieving proper training.
- To follow and act in accordance with provincial health and safety legislation and departmental safe job procedures as outlined by Mountain View Retirement Centre.
- To complete other duties as assigned.
- Attend all training sessions and departmental meetings.
- Providing warm and personalized service to our residents and to be an actively engaged member of the team

**Qualifications**:

- Must possess a Food Handler's Certificate
- Current first aid and CPR certification
- Preference will be given to individuals who have previous experience in the food service industry and working with seniors
- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills
- Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand/walk for majority of shift
- Must provide a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one
- Preference given to those with experience in hospitality
- Good communication skills and ability to work well with others
- Medical Certificate (including proof of immunization and TB testing)
- WHMIS Training

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Casual
Part-time hours: 40 per week

**Salary**: From $15.82 per hour

Schedule:

- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Weekends as needed

**Experience**:

- dietary aide: 1 year (preferred)
