Like _Dilbert,_ do you find yourself sitting in your cubicle thinking, “I need to think ‘outside the box”? Do you love having overall responsibility for the successful initiation, planning, developing, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of a project? If so, this may just be the role you were meant for. You also have a whole lot of experience and proof to show that you know how to get things done and how to motivate staff to help you do it. When it comes to working with a team, you’re the whole package - team player, supportive coach and always the enthusiastic cheerleader. As a Senior Project Manager, you will assist or lead the process to identify and document business goals and objectives as part of the initiation phase for a business case and develop a project to finalize scope, schedule, and resources. To put it simply, you are the champion of a project.
WHAT MOVES YOU
- You're a master multi-tasker who can juggle a variety of projects with ease — you have no problem getting things done.
- You’re a spirited team leader who knows how to motivate your team to get results.
- You're a flexible and responsive team player who is comfortable working with all levels in an organization.
- You love to share thoughts and ideas - after all, two heads are always better than one.
- You’re a natural when it comes to finding simple solutions to complicated problems and explaining them to others.
- You’re both a right-brain and a left-brain thinker and have a good balance between your innovative side and quantitative analytical abilities.
- You can strategize and execute integrated digital and traditional initiatives across a range of platforms.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Report to the Team Lead, PMO.
- Recommend and participate in the design and implementation of standards, tools and methodologies.
- Prepare project plans, project schedules, risk mitigation and status reporting within the standards of project management methodologies adopted by the PMO.
- Analyze project proposals to determine time frame, funding limitations and appropriate process for accomplishing projects.
- Work with organizations’ Business Leaders, and Product Owners as stakeholders to deliver key complex multi-stream projects.
- Work closely and collaboratively with other project/delivery teams, business areas and external parties to ensure interdependencies are identified early and managed successfully.
- Participate in cross-functional teams that will complete the following: initial research and design, creating and pitching proposals, driving implementation, evaluation and review, and performance monitoring.
- Conduct regular analysis to identify opportunities and develop strategies to improve performance on key KPIs.
- Escalate issues early in a clear, concise manner to ensure obstacles can be overcome and the project stays on track
- Actively drive project success and outcomes by managing timelines, deliverables, cost and other project constraints
- Increase overall effectiveness, efficiency and profitability through operational improvements and smart resourcing.
WHAT YOU’VE DONE
- You have a post-secondary education in a related field.
- You’re no newbie - you already have at least 8 years of experience in project management.
- You’ve got at least 5 years under your belt leading major IT initiatives.
- You have a few years of applied and progressive leadership experience.
- Having a project management designation (ISP, PMP) would be considered an asset.
- Exceptional communication skills across a range of forums and channels and with senior level stakeholders.
- Your project management skills are impeccable at every stage - planning, analysis, problem solving, delivery and communication.
WHAT YOU’LL GET
- Competitive salary.
- Flexible benefits.
- Outstanding employer-paid Retirement Savings Program.
- Great AMA discounts.
- Unlimited learning opportunities.
- Paid Vacation and other paid time off including a Volunteer Day and Me-Day
- Flexible work model.
