**Vocational Rehab Specialist**

**Take an inside look at what you’ll do each day**
- Assess and evaluate and the client’s overall wellbeing an ongoing basis through in-depth personal interviews, and review of medical conditions and functional abilities.
- Develop therapeutic health and wellness plans that enhance the wellbeing and function the clients to help sustain or return to work.
- Assess employment barriers and provide vocational coaching to develop suitable return-to-work plans
- Ensure all practices are conducted with integrity and in alignment to Best Practice and CBI policies, including Privacy policies
- Assess the potential for early intervention involving a wide range of rehabilitation and return to work strategies such as graduated return to work, psychological counselling, physiotherapy, mental health activation or pain management through file review, phone and onsite interviews with claimants, policy holders, employers, unions and health care providers using professional and motivational interviewing techniques
- Source and select internal or external providers and associated clinical specialists to execute individual components of the rehabilitation plan,
- Implement the rehabilitation plan, monitoring and documenting its progress, resolving barriers that arise throughout the plan’s execution, initiating solution focused interventions and addressing expectations of all stakeholders through regular, active contact and continuous relationship building activities.
- Collaborate with clinical specialist to maintain current information on claimant status while partnering with the client’s community healthcare team to facilitate recovery and return to work.
- Within approved limits, monitor rehabilitation-related expenditures to ensure fees incurred are consistent with the approved rehabilitation budget.
- Consulting regularly with the referral source to facilitate the smooth flow of information, provide updates on progress, and collaborate on required changes to the rehabilitation plan; provide education on general provisions related to benefit entitlement and direct to referral source.
- Complete regular documentation of rehabilitation activities and outcomes in accordance with documentation standards.

**What you need to be successful**
- You possess an Undergraduate or Masters Degree in Vocational Rehabilitation, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Psychology, or a related discipline.
- Broad knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation
- You have knowledge of the disability insurance industry
- You understand the impact that medical restrictions have on clients’ abilities to seek and secure work.
- Knowledge of goal directed; solution focused behaviour change interventions is an asset
- You have strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong therapeutic relationships.
- You excel in a collaborative, inter-disciplinary team environment.
- You possess, comprehensive assessment and report writing skills are required.
