**The Role**

Under the direction of the Programs and Services Manager of Early Learning and Child Care, the Supervisor
- Special Projects aims to oversee all ELCC Special Projects Programs and Events. The Supervisor will support Special Projects staff, guide program development, monitor projects, and program budgets, and ensure programs meet the needs of Métis children and their families. This position will collaborate with the entire Education and Training management team as a primary participant in developing project work plans and partnering budgets. In addition, the Supervisor is responsible for promoting a health and safety culture at the MNO and handling employee relations issues, including but not limited to attendance, absenteeism, and accommodations. The Supervisor will provide varying support for all team members to ensure compliance with all MNO policies and procedures and meet work plan goals and deliverables.

**Duties include, but are not limited to**:

- Fully understand the significance and fundamental importance of MNO’s Statement of Prime Purpose (SPP) to all MNO’s work and the requirements of the position specifically.
- Adhere to MNO Policies and Procedures, MNO’s Financial Policies and Procedures at all times, and Contribution Agreements (CA).
- Uphold MNO’s Standards of Professional Conduct at all times.
- Adhere to Privacy Laws and respect confidential information at all times.
- The Supervisor must be cognizant of the Ontario Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Workers’ Safety and Insurance Board, Ontario Human Rights Code, Canadian Human Rights Act, and other legislative provisions governing the employment relationship between MNO and the employee.
- Work in collaboration within the Branch, other MNO branches, MNO leadership, MNO citizens, MNO contractors, and consultants on related projects.

**The incumbent is responsible for the following items, as well as other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the People Leader**:
Supervisor Responsibilities:

- Will oversee daily operations of ELCC Special Projects Programs and Events.
- Hire and train new team members.
- Provide training on work culture, work expectations, job duties, and organizational policies and procedures or arrange for proper training to be provided.
- Act as a role model for the behavior and culture expected from the team.
- Provide ongoing coaching to support effective job performance and conduct constructive and timely performance evaluations at least once yearly.
- Implement coaching and corrective performance plans where required.
- Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
- Organize, plan, and supervise all functions of their employees.
- Keep team members informed about rules, regulations, policies, and objectives.
- Ensure proper maintenance, filing, and storage of records in case of audits.
- Collaborate with the team to identify ways to improve department effectiveness; implements viable ideas.
- Resolve conflicts among team members and/or other employees.
- Hold additional Occupational Health and Safety responsibilities as required by law.

Special Projects Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with ELCC Partnership and Infrastructure team on information sharing and partnership opportunities.
- Collaborate with additional MNO Departments and Programs to provide information and resource share.
- Oversee the development of Special Projects, Programs, and Events from planning to implementation. Special Projects Programs and Events include the following: Virtual and In-person Camps, Virtual Social Events, Annual Professional Conference, ELCC kit development, Annual Christmas Program, and additional ongoing programs.
- Review program timelines, expectations, and deadlines to meet program deliverables across multiple ongoing deliverables.
- Ensure programs and events are culturally appropriate
