Support Staff Regular Part-time Replacement Position

(First consideration for Support Staff and Academic positions will be given to internal applicants in accordance with the respective Collective Agreements)

The International Student Advisor Support Clerk will work up to 24 hours per week, with shifts scheduled Monday to Thursday 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., and Friday 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

**Responsibilities**:

- Prioritizing assistance or information requests that are time-sensitive and need immediate reply or referral to the proper ISA or other staff/departments
- Working with available college or third-party data, maintaining a rigorous program of study permit information follow-up and data entry for all registered students
- Assisting students who are unable to upload required documentation that relates to student study permits, work permits, and other student information updates
- Creating a weekly master reporting system that summarizes and tracks all student statuses and can be filtered by campus, program, expiry dates, etc.
- Participating in the student Study Permit Expiry reminder campaign, tracking responses/statuses, and updating SIS with new information as received
- Running various reports and data requests to support ISAs
- Assisting ISAs (and other Services teams as required) with webinars, workshops, and other ISA events and activities
- Occasional coverage for front desk reception on an as-needed basis

**Qualifications**:

- One-year Certificate in Office Administration, IT, Business, or related field
- 1.5 years of related practical experience required
- Experience working with large database systems
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy competencies, as well as respecting confidentiality
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and in demanding situations
- Related practical experience working with newcomers to Canada and new Canadians an asset
- Effective time management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
- Excellent judgment and interpersonal communication skills to work with diverse student populations
- Excellent oral and written communication, and listening skills
- Highly developed problem-solving skills, client service skills, and ability to respond with tact, diplomacy, discretion, and professionalism
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Demonstrated patience and appreciation for cultural differences when dealing with international students
- Related practical experience working with newcomers to Canada is an asset
