**Title**: Project Analyst, Indigenous Population Health
**Salary**: $70,677 - $88,399 - $97,239 per year (pay range explained below)
**Contract**: Term until December 31, 2025
**Hours**: 37.5 hours (8:30am - 4:30pm)
**Location**: 100 Park Royal South, West Vancouver, located on the Coast Salish Territories of the Squamish, Musqueam & Tsleil-Waututh Nations. Hybrid working is an option in line with FNHA’s flex work policy. Please note, this role will be relocating to our new office building in North Vancouver on Tsleil-Waututh Nation (TWN) land, south of Mount Seymour Parkway, after October 2024.

**About the role**

Your work will involve collaborating with Master of Science (MSc) students from the Simon Fraser University (SFU) MSc Program specializing in Indigenous Population Health, all aimed at enhancing our comprehension of health and wellness programming through community engagement and Integrated Knowledge Translation (iKT), utilizing the innovative Two-Eyed Seeing approach.

Project-Related Work
- Coordinates project activities including scheduling, stakeholder liaison, milestone tracking, and related tasks.
- Guides students in research activities, aiding in data acquisition, collation, and mentoring.
- Manages data storage and access processes for FNHA and SFU students, ensuring ethical and secure practices.
- Facilitates external engagement with First Nations communities and Knowledge Holders, organizing meetings while adhering to cultural and ethical guidelines.

Data Analysis
- Develop analysis plans and frameworks with a multidisciplinary team under manager guidance.
- Collaborate with community leads, field workers, and regional staff to address research and data governance issues, offering effective solutions.
- Engage with communities and Nations post-data collection to ensure relevant information for policy and program development.
- Contribute to interdisciplinary project teams, liaise with provincial and regional offices and departments, and participate in meetings and training activities.
- Promote Indigenous research methods and align with province-wide research, knowledge exchange and evaluation teams and staff

**About you**
To be successful in this role you will have:
**Education**
- A university degree with specialization in one or more of the following areas: Public Health, preferably with expertise in Indigenous Peoples’ health, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Mathematics or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- An understanding in advanced statistics, and/or biostatistics, public-health analysis and/or evidence-based methods
- A Master’s degree is considered an asset

**Experience**
- Minimum three (3) years of recent and relevant experience working in a health services research environment or appropriate combination of education and experience
- Recent, relevant and significant experience in research, analysis and report preparation related to health or social sciences, with preference given to expertise in Indigenous Peoples’ health.
- Proficiency in project management, including budgeting, planning, coordination, and leading/supporting research projects.
- Extensive experience in qualitative and quantitative research, with demonstrated skills in community engagement and promoting best practices in Indigenous health research.
- Experience with research involving Indigenous communities in a culturally safe manner and translating knowledge for diverse audiences including communities, clinicians, researchers, and decision-makers.

**Knowledge**
- Understanding of BC First Nations communities, their health governance models, and health-related challenges.
- Knowledge of cultural safety and humility; of social and Indigenous determinants of health in Canada; of CIHR grant management and reporting processes; of OCAP® principles; and of Indigenous research methods and ethics.
- Awareness of iKT and community engagement approaches, with a preference for experience in population-based preventive and treatment interventions.
- Knowledge of population-based preventive and treatment interventions is highly desirable.

**Competencies**
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in conducting qualitative and quantitative research and analysis, producing scholarly outputs and reports.
- Ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and physical capability to fulfill job duties.
