Real Estate Clerk

Howard Kelford & DuBois LLP is in search of a real estate clerk to immediately join the team in our Smiths Falls Office. Legal education and experience in a legal setting are preferred, but relevant transferrable experience will certainly be considered.
**Key Responsibities**
- Preparation and initial drafting of correspondence including editing and quality assurance
- Prepare precedent based documents as needed
- Title searching
- Coordinate workflow and assist lawyer in prioritizing and following up on outstanding items
- Assist with other projects as required
**Qualifications**
- Office Administration - Legal or Law Clerk diploma from recognized post-secondary institute or suitable combination of education and experience
- Comfort with MS Office suite (Word, Outlook)
- Working knowledge of or ability to quickly become comfortable with conveyancing and legal software programs (i.e. Lawyer Done Deal, Teraview, Leap)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience preparing and editing correspondence
**Skills Required**:
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize job tasks in order to meet tight deadlines
- Ability to respond effectively and professionally to changes in schedules and priorities
- Ability to ensure consistent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently within a team environment
- Ability to exercise discretion when dealing with sensitive information
Pay: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
