**Role Description**

The VP Retail National Marketing is the driving force that ensures that the cross-country team of retail Marketing Directors at each of the properties are executing best in class, forward looking marketing and programming. They will drive excellence in branding and retail experience in order to maximize tenants’ sales (over the short and long term) and to enhance value across the entire stakeholder ecosystem, from individual customers of our shopping centres to our tenants and up to supporting our overall QuadReal Property Group brand.

Specifically, reporting to the Executive Vice President, Retail Canada, the VP Retail National Marketing is the chief custodian of the QuadReal retail property brands via oversight of the property marketing teams’ work in retail branding, advertising, promotions, tenant communications, programming, public relations, social media, community relations. This individual will also work with others and participate as a team member on redevelopment-related marketing activities within our portfolio.

Further, the VP Retail National Marketing will support EVP Retail in solidifying and communicating the QuadReal Retail group strategy to team members and to QuadReal at large to build affinity and team spirit (such as InTouch stories, QuadReal retail conferences, panels, awards, etc.)

**Responsibilities**
- Build and sustain and lead an excellent strong marketing team for each project across the country
- Lead the overall retail marketing efforts with a view to ensuring that the retail portfolio meets its business objectives in terms of Income and Capital Returns.
- Guide the Marketing Directors for each project in the creation and execution of annual business plans and long term plans with a mind to leveraging cost recovery and revenue and expense matching.
- Oversee all property-level marketing activities across the retail portfolio ensuring effective management and implementation
- Partner with retailers to develop and implement marketing collateral, releases or programs specific to our portfolio - requires knowledge of retailer needs, loyalty programs, VIP opportunities, etc
- Inspire and support leasing, as needed, through research and marketing efforts including the creation of cutting-edge leasing packages.
- Lead the marketing efforts for QuadReal’s Retail business as it relates to raising the profile within the industry - both on the peer and retailer side of the business.
- Oversee advertising campaigns which increase consumer awareness, consideration, and drive both traffic and sales. Have a digital first mindset when developing and executing integrated marketing plans and initiatives to support the various market needs with the primary goal of reducing vacancy and increasing traffic through lead generation.
