**Future of Good is hiring a Managing Editor**

Future of Good is seeking to hire a Managing Editor which requires an ambitious, enterprising leadership mindset and consistent care for the wellbeing of our reporting team. As Managing Editor, you’ll steer all of Future of Good’s coverage, from _what_ stories we cover to _how _we cover them. You’ll lead all day-to-day management of our journalism and reporting team. You’ll connect regularly with changemakers, develop a network of sources, and keep a pulse on latest research, trends, developments, solutions and news emerging in the social impact world and distill what’s going to resonate deeply with your audience. You’ll ensure that every story meets its purpose of enriching changemakers with insights as well as envision and assign stories that grow the audience reach. You’ll be part of big-picture direction-setting for the organization as well as day-to-day breaking of big stories, coaching reporters, and grappling with journalistic ethics. Founded in 2019 and the only Canadian media platform of its kind, Future of Good straddles the worlds of social impact journalism and professional learning. Our journalism, learning resources and live events equip changemakers with nuanced insights, analysis and know-how to make a bigger, more meaningful difference at work and on the causes they care about. Our team of journalists dive deep into the world of impact to research and report on must-know news, trends and developments in humanitarian aid, social sector modernization, inclusion and anti-racism, social policy, philanthropy and giving, social finance and impact investing, technology and digital adoption, and corporate citizenship.

In addition to our journalism, Future of Good produces valuable online learning resources and live learning events throughout the year to boost knowledge on topics that matter to changemakers. Events include: Black Leadership in Social Impact summit, Dismantling Digital Barriers summit, Transforming Funding Models summit, and the Women’s Economic Resilience summit. To date, Future of Good’s events have convened thousands of changemakers from coast-to-coast-to-coast.

Future of Good’s primary audience are the millions of changemakers across Canada; we define changemakers as professionals, boards, decision-makers and groups who work in social purpose teams in diverse types of organizations such as not-for-profits, charities, social service agencies, philanthropic organizations, different levels of government, associations, impact investing firms, social enterprises, co-operatives, academia and think tanks, global development and humanitarian aid organizations, and corporate social responsibility teams in companies. Our audience works everyday to address diverse causes, from human rights to climate action and education to newcomer settlement.

**About the role and person**

Reporting to the Publisher, the Managing Editor must be skilled and experienced in the day-to-day management in supporting journalists through the life cycle of stories from idea to publication. The Managing Editor helps set the vision for webinars and events with our reporters that go deeper into the journalism.
