Position: Bartender

Status: Part Time

Report to: Restaurant Manager/Assistant Restaurant Managers

Wage as per collective agreement

SCOPE & GENERAL PURPOSE:
Credentials required:

- Food Handlers Certificate
- Smart Serve.
- Experience: 1 month to 1 year Skills:

- Serve drinks and food to customers at the bar
- Mix and prepare cocktails for service staff
- Come up with daily cocktail specials
- Be knowledgeable of wine, draft and spirit offerings
- Able to provide various recommendations to guest about wine pairings and beverage choices
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of food and beverage products and menu choices
- Maintain liquor inventory
- Maintain a clean working environment
- Wash and put away glassware
- Determine levels of guests alcohol consumption and make appropriate calls, document any issues with guests
- Opens or closes dining room (and bar depending on scheduled shift)
- Insuring proper stock levels.
- Cleaning of glass washer. and ensuring proper chemicals are utilized, PH testing as needed
- Creation of featured cocktail.
- Put away all delivered orders of alcohol and pop.
- Reset lounge for breakfast service.

Additional Skills:

- Suggestive selling and upselling
- Ensure all orders are taken and ordered correctly
- Be alert and attentive to all guest requests
- Staying up to date on current menu selections
- Aware of the kitchen running low on items and communicate to appropriate staff
- Properly open pour and serve wine at the table
- Customer service oriented;
- Address customers complaints or concerns
- Assist customers with special needs
- Enforce provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulations
- Clear and clean tables, trays and chairs
- Document use; Numeracy; Writing; Communication; Working with others; Problem solving; Decision making; Critical thinking; Job task planning and organizing; Significant use of memory; Finding information; Computer use; Continuous learning.
- Have knowledge of hotel fire and safety procedures.
- Maintain a high level of customer service at all times.
- Handle guest enquiries.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 16-31 per week

**Salary**: $15.50 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Evening shift
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- On call
- Weekend availability

**Experience**:

- serving: 1 year (preferred)
- Bartending: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Smart Serve (preferred)
- Food Handler Certification (preferred)
