- The food handlers course - is a requirement - This course is offered through- Food Handlers Certificate - Food Safety Course Online Training (probeit.ca)- The safe lifts and lifting training - will be provided in house
- Providing assistance while feeding a resident - will be provided in house
- Job Duties
- Nursing- Attend shift report - identifying residents requiring assistance with porting, preparing for appointments/outing, residents on contact precaution, admissions/discharges and special events-
- Working as a second staff member on all mechanical lifts and 2 person assists.-
- Making beds-
- Assisting with choosing clothing, Dressing residents-
- Answer call bells - attend to all resident needs other than toileting unless a 2nd on a lift-
- Communicate and/or document residents intake (food and fluid) during meals and snacks-
- Collect laundry and place in laundry chute-
- Collecting and taking out garbage-
- Restock linens, briefs, all supplies
- including PPE supplies-
- Ensure all resident labeling is in place and up to date - in room and on clothing-
- Cleaning and organizing closets and bedside tables often will need to involve the resident-
- Low risk activities of daily living - brushing teeth, doing hair, mouth care- Housekeeping duties- clean and tidy resident room (dusting, putting clothing away, sweeping, mopping)-
- cleaning tables and chairs in the dining rooms after the meal- Dining and Dietary Duties- food delivery - to freezer fridges and storerooms-
- gather the meal selections-
- Assist residents to and from the dining room - portering, hand washing and sanitizing, clothing protectors-
- Assist with serving the residents meals.-
- Assist residents needing assistance with eating-
- Clear dishes when resident is finished-
- Assist with nourishment pass and providing all help residents require.-
- Dietary Department - if short a dietary aid-
- Dietary aid behind the steam table or on the rationale carts.-
- In the kitchen - washing dishes, prepping carts or plating food- Laundry- Laundry - if we are unable to fill position in laundry - working as either LD or LE position- All other assigned duties
