**Requirements applicants must have**:

- Montessori teaching or assistant diploma
- ECE or ECEA certification
- Current First Aid certification
- Minimum 1 year work experience in childcare setting

**Duties**:

- Support the Lead Teacher in running and maintaining a Montessori environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children.
- Follow the direction of the Lead Teacher on supporting Montessori lessons.
- Assist in the preparation of classroom materials.
- Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits.
- Collaborate to develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children.
- Engage children in developmentally appropriate activities inclusive of the Montessori curriculum.
- Model integrity, curiosity, responsibility, creativity and respect for all persons as well as an appreciation of racial, cultural, gender issues and diversity.
- Support Lead Teacher with parent-teacher conferences twice each year.
- Assist in the preparation of external communication to families at regular intervals
- Ensure the safety and physical well-being of the students at all times.
