Join our Quilchena team as a Banquet Captain, where you’ll play a pivotal role in managing large and small-scale events and ensuring smooth operations from start to finish.
**About the Role**
As a Banquet Captain, you will supervise staff and oversee banquet operations, ensuring that every event is flawlessly executed. You will act as a liaison between various teams and event personnel, focusing on providing high-quality customer service while ensuring everything runs smoothly. Your leadership, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail will be crucial in managing both the front-of-house and behind-the-scenes aspects of events.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Welcome guests and assist with seating arrangements
- Coordinate food and beverage orders in collaboration with kitchen and service staff
- Enforce health and safety regulations and ensure hygiene standards are maintained
- Manage event setup, logistics, and post-event cleanup
- Train and mentor new staff members
- Address and resolve on-site customer complaints in a professional manner
- Maintain accurate event documentation
- Assign team members specific responsibilities and oversee their performance
- Ensure seamless communication with clients and internal teams to ensure a successful event
**Qualifications**
- High school diploma required; a degree in hospitality management is preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a banquet-related role
- Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership ability and experience managing teams
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Physically fit, able to stand for long periods and move equipment as needed
- Knowledge of the hospitality industry and event management processes
