The Information Security Analyst plays a crucial role in safeguarding systems, networks, and data against cyber threats. The incumbent works closely with the IT team and other stakeholders to assess risks, develop security strategies, and implement measures to protect the organization's assets. This position contributes to the ongoing enhancement of organizational cybersecurity posture and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducts regular security assessments and risk analyses to identify vulnerabilities and potential threats to our systems and networks.
- Monitors security tools, logs and alerts to detect and respond to security incidents promptly.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop and implement security policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Performs penetration testing and vulnerability assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of existing security controls.
- Participates in the design and implementation of security solutions.
- Stays current on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies to continuously improve organizational security posture.
- Provides security awareness training and guidance to employees to promote a culture of cybersecurity awareness throughout the organization.
- Assists in incident response and recovery efforts, including forensic analysis and remediation activities.
- Monitors compliance with the organization's IT security policies and procedures among all employees, contractors, and other third parties.
- Assists in the development and implementation of appropriate IT security policies, standards, guidelines and procedures.
- Provides security assessments for change management, project management and architectural reviews.
- Works with external organizations on third party security assessments
- Works with other areas of the business on Corporate Security issues where required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Dedicated to the principles of exceptional service; committed to responding to, anticipating, and addressing customer needs, for both internal and external customers.
- A post-secondary degree or equivalent in Information Security or 5 or more years of experience in information security or a related role.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, best practices, and technologies.
- Working knowledge of Windows desktop and server, Linux and Active Directory.
- Working knowledge of IP-based networking including network devices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with all levels within the organization.
- Experience with cloud security and compliance frameworks (e.g., AWS, Azure, NIST, CIS) is a plus.
- Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM CompTIA Security+ or GIAC certifications are desirable.
