**JOB OVERVIEW**: International Admissions Specialist**

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- Successful completion of an undergraduate Diploma or an associate’s degree in a related discipline. A combination of education and working experience will be considered.
- Minimum two years of experience working with international students in the admissions portfolio, and the ability to communicate effectively and professionally in a cross-cultural working environment
- Previous experience in supervising unionized staff considered a strong asset

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Strong working knowledge of International Admissions processes and procedures and the ability to analyze established processes to recommend changes in support of international students
- Solid knowledge of the BC post-secondary educational system and international education systems
- Experience in the use of enterprise student information systems
- Ability to build and maintain positive, cooperative, and service-oriented relationships with internal and external clients such as applicants, agents, faculty, staff, and prospective learners
- Oral and written fluency in English and a secondary language in one of KPU’s target markets is required. The language requirements for the open role will be specified in the job posting
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to record and process data efficiently and accurately
- Ability to exercise a high level of initiative and responsibility, work independently and establish own priorities to meet deadlines
- Proven ability to conduct oneself calmly and professionally in a demanding, high-stress, fast-paced environment over a sustained period of time
- Proven ability to represent a post-secondary institution or other similar organizations with tact and diplomacy in all settings
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information appropriately
- Ability to travel and work at various campuses
- Minimum of 45 wpm keyboarding skills with a high degree of accuracy
- Able to lift and carry materials in the range of 30 to 50 lbs.
