MRP and Inventory Specialist

We are growing and in need of a MRP and Inventory Specialist that wants to grow with us
Our current MRP system will be upgraded this year. We need a specialist that has the ability to contribute as a main contributor -understanding the opportunities that go with the upgrades is something we value. Enables our organization to function optimally by ensuring that all necessary materials for production are in stock when needed. Someone who is proactive, and take the necessary steps to ensure that projects in the workflow remain in progress. It is the Inventory Specialist’s responsibility to keep track of incoming and outgoing products and to prevent a shortage of supply that could disrupt a company’s processes. In addition, the Inventory Analyst will be responsible for strategic forecasting, and the development of inventory management policies and procedures.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
Duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

- Demand Planning_

Identify production material requirements - shortage of raw materials and assembled items by creating a Master Production Schedule (MPS) and Create Master Requirements Plan (MRP) for both purchased and assembled items.

Review and verify the accuracy of demand from stock shortages.

Entering sales forecasts in the manufacturing software periodically.

Prevent shortages of supply by ensuring adequacy and effectiveness of minimum levels, maximum levels, reorder levels, and reorder quantities for purchased and assembled items.

Verify for late delivery and request purchasing to expedite (reschedule) purchase orders.

Verify for late production and request Production to update Manufacturing orders.

Advice customer service to update expected ship dates on sales orders and advise clients of delays.
- Inventory Control_

Keep track of raw materials, incoming deliveries, and stock.

Maintain stock room locations and print location labels.

Digitally manage inventory and create inventory reports.

Issuing inventory count sheets and coordinating with production managers to complete periodic inventory cycle counts and year-end inventory counts.

Reconcile inventory differences between physical stock and digital data.
- Cost Control and Period-End Tasks_

Perform period-end tasks such as weekly retrieving GL transactions into Sage.

Perform month-end tasks such as taking MiSys inventory snapshots, reconciling Sage and MiSys inventory, PO liability, and other related balances.
- Maintain work centers digitally i.e.: assign adequate material, labor, and overhead resources.
- Report on periodic variances and their causes, focusing in particular on Overhead, labor, and direct material variances.
- Periodically run data integrity checks on both MiSys and Sage and fix the errors.

Others
- Follow OHS rules and regulations.
- Must have the ability to work in an area that can be uncomfortable due to noise, odors, and extreme temperatures
- Must have CSA approved steel-toed work boots
- Follow Quality Management System (QMS) requirements as outlined in the applicable QMS procedures or work instructions, and suggest ways for continual improvement.
- Must be able to lift to 40 pounds at times
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Your Manager / Supervisor may change your duties and responsibilities from time to time.

**Required Education and Work Experience**:

- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or Business, Finance & Administration (with a focus on Cost Accounting) or equivalent
- Experience with production and materials scheduling in a manufacturing production environment.
- Experience navigating warehouse
- Knowledge of and experience with inventory control procedures
- Understanding budgeting and standard cost and average cost accounting is an asset
- Knowledge of and experience with Lean 5S methodology is an asset
- Experience with radio frequency ID systems (RFID) and bar code systems is an asset

- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
**Required Software Skills**:

- Working knowledge with an ERP with an emphasis on MRP and inventory control software such as SAGE or MiSys
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and G-Suite
- Basic knowledge of SQL database management is an asset.
