Sensity seeks a **C**afé** and Retail Store Coordinator** for an immediate opening for a full time role. This position will help build on the vision for an accessible on-site café and create opportunities for possible employment for self-advocates.

You will be based in Paris, Ontario, and will be responsible for developing the systems and processes to guide the daily operations of the Recreation Centre (RC) Café and Retail store which includes workflow and procedures and the development of a menu and inventory. which entails coordinating and supervising a team of participants including those who are deafblind to enable them to gain basic hospitality work experience.

**Essential Position Functions**:

- Comply with Health & Safety regulations, safe food handling, fire and that the café area is kept clean.
- Ensure café and store is appropriately staffed.
- Maintain appliances.
- Development of menu with awareness of special dietary requirements.
- Prepare and cook food on a regular basis with a team of participants.
- Control and maintain regular stock inventory for store and café, including inspecting the quality of the food before selling, packaging, or storing.
- Continue developing the framework for the work experience programming.
- Provide basic training, supervision, and instruction to participants on the use of small café equipment, preparation, and cooking.
- Performs other duties, as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Completion of a culinary college diploma or comparable program.
- Certificate in Safe Food Handling.
- Minimum of two (2) years working in food preparation, program planning/evaluation and café
- Experience with teaching and supervising adults or self-advocates with disabilities would be considered an asset.
- Experience in retail sales including using social media as a tool.
- Advanced oral and written communication skills.
- Solid time management, attention to detail and organizational skills. Adaptable and flexible with the ability to respond to changing work priorities, pressures and demands; and be creative with meal preparation.
- Valid Ontario driver's licence with ability to obtain a driver's abstract.
