Position Overview: Kitchener Utilities is seeking a supervisor to oversee our large meter sets and multi-meter manifolds as well as our regulator stations.

**Responsibilities**:
- Directly supervise gas technicians with full responsibility for interviewing and selection, orientation and training, guidance and direction and performance management.
- Review and approve timesheets, work orders, appliance inspection reports, vehicle inspections reports and accident/injury reports.
- Oversee and schedule the maintenance programs for this group including monthly regulator station inspections, regulator pit inspections and large meter set inspections.
- Oversee the secure and accurate supply of natural gas to the customers of Kitchener Utilities. Responsible for the operation of 3 district regulator stations.
- Supervise the installation, operation and maintenance of all large industrial, commercial, institutional meter sets as well as multi-meter manifolds across the KU service area.
- Responsible for the implementation, scheduling and oversight of the large meter replacement program.
- Assisting the Manager with the inventory related to large meters, regulators, reliefs, modules and instruments.
- Schedule staff and manage various projects concurrently, which will include use of a computerized work management system (Cityworks) and meter inventory system (SAP).
- Provide meter support to Engineering and Construction and Maintenance staff.
- Provide direction and recommend action regarding health and safety matters to ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act, its regulations and other related legislations are followed.
- Review non-compliances of B149 Code (infractions) as they relate to large meter sets.
- Provide technical knowledge and training to meter staff as well as engineering staff. Provides leadership, technical assistance and guidance to crew leaders, field staff, as well as engineering contractors seeking expertise and/or legislative guidance. Provide large meter training and station emergency response training to staff. Support the development of technical documentation and training programs.
- Controls staff, equipment and resources during emergencies and unplanned work or other assignments, as directed.
- Have a strong understanding of the Z662 and B149 CSA Codes.
- Inspections of customer installations in accordance with current regulations.
- Communicate proactively with property owners, tenants and builders and deal with escalated calls related to metering.
- Coordination with Enbridge for work on our gate and regulator stations and work with TSSA as required.

**Requirements**:
- Must possess a Grade 12 education plus up to 1 year of additional related courses is required.
- Must possess a valid G1 Gas Technician Certificate or have the ability to obtain one within one year of start date.
- Must possess a Gas Pipeline Inspector (GPI) Certificate.
- Must have a minimum of 3-5 years related experience.
- Must be reliable with good attitude and employment record.
- Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbal and written with a strong customer service focus
- Must have proven collaboration skills and be able to work effectively as a team member.
- Must have demonstrated leadership and public relations experience.
- Must have the ability to support and project values compatible with the organization.
- Must have proven problem-solving skills and a willingness to take initiative especially when dealing with maintenance issues, system failures and emergencies.
- Must possess a valid MTO class G driver’s license and in good standing.
- Must have a thorough working knowledge of natural gas meters, regulators, instruments/modules and reliefs.
- Must be able to respond to the site or Kitchener Operations Facility within 30 minutes for emergency purposes and be willing to participate in on-call on a rotational basis.
