Detailed Job Description:
- Installing both hardscape (brick) and softscape (gardens) landscaping projects
- Training and regular use of hand tools, power tools and other farming equipment
- Collaborate with the Director as well as customers on a weekly basis
- Regular site visits to the locations for check-ins, maintenance, rotational crop planting, repairs etc.
- Collect data about the completed project regarding expense, benefits, crop outputs, etc.
- Maintain accurate records of inputs and outputs from each garden
- Maintain accurate records of staff hours and task reports
- Receive informal onsite feedback and coaching of performance from the Director
- Receive monthly in-person feedback from Farm Supervisor and Director
- When possible, assist in the maintenance of our small-scale farming sites
- When possible, attend local Farmer’s Market and facilitate Market Dollar Program
- When possible, help facilitate packing and delivery of the Common Goods Food Box
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid G Driver’s License and personal vehicle
- Experience landscaping - installing both hardscape and softscape projects
- Interest in community-led food programs and food security
- Interest in small-scale regenerative agriculture
- Commitment to principles of food justice and equity
- Hard worker
- Self-Motivated and self-starter
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Capable of working independently as well as part of a team
- Experience gardening, growing food or working with plants is an asset
- Experience working with a variety of tools and equipment is an asset
Job Requirements:
- Physical labor in inclement weather (all weather conditions) and a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to travel to our different farm locations (company transportation)
- Physically demanding: lifting and moving up to 40 pounds, hours spent on feet, bending, crouching, etc.
- Flexibility in hours including evenings and weekends may be required to accommodate organizational requirements
**Job Types**: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 4 months
**Salary**: $17.00-$20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 per week
