**Videographer Assistant**

The role of the Videographer Assistant is to work as a member of the Public Affairs team within the President’s Office to shoot and edit video for internal and external clients, take photographs when required, and provide support to the Videographer and Digital Communications Coordinator.

**Responsibilities**:
The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
**Video Production - Development**
- ** **Work as part of the Public Affairs team to support the development of content and assist with the production of videos from concept to final approval and posting.
- Work closely with the Videographer to ensure content produced aligns with the college’s strategic plan. Refine and improve projects based on best practices and in line with existing brand guidelines for the college.

**Video and Photography Production - Shooting and Editing**
- Edit videos and perform other post-production tasks including reviewing footage, rough cuts, audio adjustment, colour correction, and final editing.
- Support the Videographer in maintaining an archive of all photos and videos taken and respond to requests for photo and video content from internal and external contacts.
- Shoot and edit videos and photos as required by the Public Affairs team including:

- President’s office videos and photographs.
- Provide video/photography support for other Senior Leadership Team members as assigned.
- Travel and work on location to shoot footage and photographs at college events and announcements, or for special projects.

**Other duties as assigned**

**Qualifications**:

- A College Diploma or equivalent in either Broadcasting, Video Production or Photography is required at the point of hire into this position.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience with motion graphics and audio production will be an asset.
- Solid understanding of how to properly light a video shoot.
- Capable of using both DSLR and dedicated video cameras.
- Experience with still photography with an emphasis on event coverage will be an asset.
- Demonstrated commitment and understanding of human rights, equity, diversity and inclusion with the ability to communicate and work effectively inter-culturally with diverse groups of students, employees and the community.
