As part of our stellar team, reporting to the Assistant Manager, Housing Facilities, you’ll dive into the heart of campus living. Your mission? To dazzle and delight with top-notch housekeeping services that elevate the standard of cleanliness across all on-campus accommodations.

**What You’ll Do**:

- Cleans, set up and prepare rooms for student accommodations.
- Provide housekeeping duties throughout Housing buildings.
- Sets up rooms for hotel/conference accommodations and launders linens to support our conference operations.
- Assists with room inspections.
- Assists with the reporting on conditions impacting the security, safety, and maintenance of residence buildings.
- Provides a variety of housekeeping and cleaning duties on a regular basis to ensure the health and safety of our students and guests.
- Assists with conducting health and safety inspections each semester and assists students with preparations in efforts to support the departmental goals with respect to preventative health and safety and pest control programs.
- Moves and lifts furniture and/or equipment.
- Operates both manual and power operated equipment such as vacuums, extractors, auto-scrubbers, steamers, and buffers.

Position Requirements

**What You’ll Bring to this Position**:

- Grade 12
- Previous housekeeping experience is preferred. Combination of education and experience may be considered.

**Skills That Will Ensure Your Success in the Role**:

- Must have well developed communication skills (oral and written)
- Demonstrated ability to deal tactfully and courteously with residents, guests, staff, and general public.
- Ability to assist with problem solving.
- Ability to participate in, and understand that the University has a diverse and respectful work environment.
- Knowledge of materials and cleaning supplies used in the industry and procedures used in performing duties including knowledge of WHMIS.
- Knowledge of the operation of manual and power-operated equipment.

Physical Demands

Good physical health and strength is required to lift and move moderate to heavy furniture and equipment. Must have the ability to do stairs and move building to building.

Pay Grade CUPE Phase 2 Salary Range $38,571.52 - $46,317.44 Annually Status Permanent Work Hours

Typically Wednesday to Sunday, 11:00 am - 7:30 pm.

Variable work hours are required from time to time, which can include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Must be able to work alternate hours during peak times, for example special events, student move-in and move-out.
