**Essential Job Functions**
- Works within client’s prescribed project implementation methodology and follows applicable standards
- Perform problem determination, performance tuning, and monitoring of the production environment
- Understand and advise on SOA and ESB architecture and best practices
- Lead targeted evaluation efforts of new technology products, such as pilot and proof-of-concept
- Manage ongoing security requirements for WebSphere Application Server
- Research and correct security scan report issues related to middleware products
- Provide statistics and reports on the operation of WebSphere and systems as required by the group
- Create and maintain documentation and diagrams to support the management of the Web server and WebSphere environment
- Provide statistics and reports on the operation of WebSphere and systems as required by group
- Research and correct security scan report issues related to middleware products
- Creates test scenarios and performs unit testing of programming changes
- Makes recommendations to the development team to meet platform / technical and functional requirements

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
- Proficiency in administration and technical support for WebSphere Application Server
- Knowledge of SOA and ESB architecture and best practices
- Experience with API-level development, including Web Services
- Proven ability to lead evaluation efforts of new technology products and resolve programming problems
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to provide technical leadership and mentorship
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Experience or know-how of IBM WebSphere Administration or other Application Servers
- Platform experience on UNIX and Windows
- Good to have Experience with DXC IP INGENIUM and PathFinder
- Java EE and Web development experience is required
- Proficiency in Java, XML, HTML, JSP, JavaScript and CSS is a must
- Knowledge of COBOL is an asset
