We are looking for a motivated **Supply Chain Procurement Clerk** would prefer co-op student or graduate to join our Equipment Division in Nisku, AB as soon as possible for approx. 4 month contract.
**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Director, Supply Chain the Supply Chain Procurement position is responsible for the day-to-day execution and follow-up of purchasing activities in support of Procon's material requirements in support of the Nisku Equipment Division and/or its various projects underway.
**Responsibilities**:
The Supply Chain Procurement position responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Follow up on and monitor order due dates daily and weekly. Pre-emptively contact suppliers to ensure orders are on track for timely delivery.
- Troubleshoot any supply & logistic issues to ensure expected delivery dates are achieved.
- Ensure accurate delivery dates are up to date in ERP database
- Liaise between suppliers and site teams to communicate order status.
- Assist with reconciling backorders, investigate shipping discrepancies, and /or invoice discrepancies.
- Suggest process improvements for resolution of shortage/backorder. Recommend product alternatives to respective purchaser and site team for discontinued or backordered items.
- Provide research and other support with various procurement projects as assigned.
- Assist with day-to-day purchasing duties when/if needed in support of overall Procurement Team.
- Negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best possible price, lead time and quality for products and services.
- Issue requests for quotations and purchase orders
**Qualifications / Requirements**:
- Must be working towards or have obtained designation in Supply Chain, or business-related field. Part of a Coop program a preference.
- Previous experience in Mining environment considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft suite of products
- Intermediate to advanced level of Excel skills
- Knowledge of procurement and logistics principles
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously.
- A self-starter
- Ability to work under pressure and respond to deadlines in an organized fashion.
- For this position, you will be required to undergo a background check.
