**DIETARY AIDE**

Additionally, in 2018, Primacare undertook a ground-breaking research project called The Albert Project, to investigate an innovative approach to dementia care that utilizes virtual reality (VR) as a therapeutic intervention for residents with moderate to severe dementia. The pilot phase was completed in 2019 with findings that showed it was clinically significant to their residents.

**Your Opportunity**

Reporting to the Food and Nutrition Manager, the **Dietary Aide** is responsible for assisting in the preparation and serving of meals, ensuring work areas are in a safe and sanitary condition, and assisting in maintaining a safe and secure environment for all.

**Key Responsibilities and Skills**:

- Clean/set-up the dining room for meal service.
- Serve meals to residents in a pleasant and friendly manner.
- Wash and sanitize cooking tools and small wares and deep clean all service stations.
- General kitchen duties and others, as assigned.
- Ensure standards of resident dietary services are consistently achieved.
- Ensure all MOHLTC and Public Health requirements are met.
- Contribute to a home environment for residents that ensures the values of Primacare Living Solutions are maintained and upheld.

**Job Requirements**:

- Food Service Worker/Dietary Aide Certificate or Diploma in Culinary Management.
- Food Handler Certification.
- A Vulnerable Sector Screening check completed in the last 6 months.
- The ability to read, write, and communicate orally in English.
- Previous working experience in the food sector
- Experience in a Long-Term Care Home or with seniors preferred.
- Proof of full immunization (2 doses ) against COVID-19, in accordance with the Ontario Ministry of Long-Term Care's _Long-term care home COVID-19 immunization policy_.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Licence/Certification:

- Food Service Worker Diploma (preferred)
- Food Handler Certification (preferred)
