**Qualifications**:
Preference is given to people with any of the following experiences and qualifications:

- 10+ years experience in the Electric Utilities sector
- 5+ years experience in leadership and people management
- Power Line Technician Certificate of Qualification or Interprovincial Red Seal
- Certified Engineering Technician or Technologist Diploma
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Degree
- Professional Engineer License

**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**

Meet the electricity needs of customers electricity consumption and generation needs through the design, construction, maintenance of a reliable, safe, and cost-effective electricity system, within the terms of the Company’s Vision and Values.

Manage the construction of overhead and underground electrical distribution system projects. Work with forecasts, budget estimates, detailed estimates, designs, collaborate internally with colleagues and externally with road authorities, municipalities, contractors, regulatory agencies, customers, and stakeholders.

Lead the Health and Safety of the organization by ensuring safe working conditions and safe work practices & procedures, in all phases of utility operations.

Perform safety meetings and site inspections to ensure staff are adequately trained and in compliance with Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.

Ensure that approved electrical distribution system construction comply with the requirements of Ontario regulations such as Reg 22/04, other provincial & municipal statutes, and corporate standards.

Manage employees in a unionized environment, including performance reviews, work prioritization, explanation of work procedures, problem resolution, and discipline where necessary.

Management of RSL assets by ensuring Distribution Infrastructure, Fleet, Equipment, Tools, and Facilities are maintained at base condition for the useful designed life, while evaluating replacement, improvement, and expansion opportunities as the system needs warrant.

Lead RSL Utilities’ outage restoration and emergency management plan; This includes leading the outage response procedures with the Foreman and Lead Hand.

Develop, implement, and revise as required the 5-year Distribution System Plan and utilize it to provide input to the annual business plan and corresponding budget.

Implement and improve the databases and operational technology that facilitate the utility operation including the Geographic Information System (GIS), Metering Technology, the Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition System (SCADA)

Oversee the inventory integrity of the organization.

Pursue, support, and actively be involved in new revenue opportunities.
