Victoria, Canada Giftbit Full time

**About Giftbit**

Giftbit allows businesses to easily run global, digitals reward programs. Giftbit aspires to be the leader in integrated incentives—gift cards, prepaid cards, & other payout methods.

More importantly, you will define and implement critical new processes.

This role is responsible for all areas of finance in the business: customer and supplier funding in multiple currencies, revenue recognition, bank relationships, cashflow management and optimization, tax and accounting, SOC2, and treasury strategy—to name a few. You will have support from Giftbit’s operations and administrative team, bookkeepers, fractional CFO resources, and resources at the company’s USA and Canadian accounting firms.

The Head of Finance will work closely with Giftbit’s Chief Commercial Officer, Chief Product Officer, and Head of Partnerships.

**What you’ll do**
- Ensure financial excellence, from operations to analysis, as Giftbit grows globally.
- Operate finances for Giftbit’s USA and Canadian companies, following the IFRS accounting standard.
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including running payroll, corporate banking, inventory management, and customer funding of accounts.
- Manage and optimize cashflows, exercising judgment between a variety of cash and liability accounts in multiple currencies.
- Provide input and detailed financial guidance on Giftbit’s product and engineering team to automate finance functions where sensible.
- Manage and improve Giftbit’s treasury strategy.
- Run monthly financial reconciliation and revenue recognition process.
- Create financial forecasts, analysis, models, and presentations to assist the executives and board with planning and decision making.
- Define and implement new financial processes.

**Who you are**
- You have +5 years operational experience in finance and a proven knowledge of financial processes, corporate finance, and information analysis.
- You have created and defined new processes to make financial operations smooth, secure, and clear.
- You’ve worked in a product company before and have experience improving financial processes through automation and delivery through product.
- You are able to prioritize and execute while a business grows.
- High attention to detail and diligent accuracy. Plus, you create processes to catch errors if they arise.
- Proficiency with bookkeeping, payment, and business intelligence software.
- Ideally, you have some experience managing direct reports.
- Strength in Excel or Google Sheets is assumed. You have a strong aptitude for multi-variant financial forecasts and analysis. You have a firm handle on the numbers and data and what they all mean. Therefore you are capable of summarizing your insights at an executive and board level—and eager to have the details of your work explored.
- You write clearly.
- You may also have a bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, economics, or a related field.
- You may have worked directly with banks and lenders on behalf of a business, perhaps optimizing treasury or taking on debt facilities to support growth and inventory.
