- Position Summary:

- Under the supervision of the Director, Sarah Brauner-Otto, and the Research Administrator, Aimy Croner, the communications & administrative assistant will provide communications and administrative support to assist in the smooth functioning of the Centre on Population Dynamics (CPD).
- Primary Responsibilities:

- o Website & social media development/maintenance.
- Compile announcements into bi-monthly (2x per month) newsletter via Mailchimp.
- Maintain listservs and newsletter distribution list.
- Post relevant material on CPD Twitter account
- o Liaise with members, trainees, and collaborators
- Secondary Responsibilities:

- o Assist with events during the semester
- o Maintain webpage

- The Centre on Population Dynamics (CPD) is a community of scholars dedicated to creating and disseminating new knowledge on the transformative demographic and health changes occurring across the globe. Research conducted by CPD members lies within several key areas of demographic research: Family Dynamics; Social and Economic Determinants of Health; Education; Skill and Labour; Migration; and Aging. Faculty and students work together on path-breaking research to address these issues in countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas with much looking more locally to Canada.

- Qualifications:
- Student must be an Arts Undergraduate and eligible for Work Study.-
- Familiarity with listservs, newsletters, and McGill’s website editing tools an asset. Interest in population studies and/or social statistics preferred. Ability to read French an asset.-
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written-
- Demonstrated attention to detail and time management skills-
- Demonstrated initiative, be a quick learner-
- Ability to be focused and flexible, and work in a busy environment-
- Punctual, organized and professional-
