**About the Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Principal Investigator (PI), the Research Database Specialist provides consulting support related to the development and maintenance of health and clinical research databases, specific to the Radiation Oncology Research department. Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Reviews, evaluates, designs, implements and maintains project databases.
- Identifies data sources, constructs data decomposition diagrams, provides data flow diagrams and documents the process.
- Using appropriate software, writes codes for database access, modifications, linkage and dataset constructions.
- Proficiently designs, writes, and executes computer code in a variety of languages for data cleaning activities and the creation of derived variables.
- Carries out or assists faculty and staff in carrying out analytics and dashboard creation using data from databases.
- Contributes to the writing of manuscripts, abstracts, slide presentations, and posters.
- Mentors and trains researchers and trainees and assist them in the identification and planning of data needs.

**Qualifications**:
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

- Bachelor's degree in a related area required
- Two (2) to five (5) years of experience in the field of health or clinical research databases required.
- Ability to design complex database structures using standard conventions and procedures.
- Knowledge and experience in user interface design.
- Strong working knowledge in one or more of the following: MS SQL Server, web-based database development
- High level of proficiency in data management
- Proven ability to comprehend large relational data models and use appropriate techniques to compile data in a clear and concise manner.
- Experience with data validation, data formatting and data cleaning.
- Proficiency in programming including one or more of: SAS, VBA, SQL, R, Python, Stata, SPSS
- Experience with establishing servers and web hosting applicable to online data collection would be considered a strong asset.
- Commitment to literate coding to ensure data management code is documented, replicable, and transferable.
- Ability to work in a results-oriented clinical and health research methods service environment with direction, as a team member, and independently
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work to deadlines and within budget.
- Excellent communication skills including advanced written and spoken English skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate data management methods and results to clinical and health researchers who may have limited data management training.

**Hours of Work**:
Hourly Full-Time, Long Assignment (75 hours bi-weekly)
- Anticipated start date of July 3rd, 2023; with an anticipated end date of July 3rd, 2024.**Salary Information**:
$30.32 hourly - $37.90 hourly

$59,124 annually - $73,905 annually
