**Altera (Atlantic) Chartering is currently accepting resumes for the below position working offshore Newfoundland, Canada onboard the Altera Thule.**

**Position**:Able-Bodied Seaman - Available 4 Positions
**Location**: Offshore NL
**Annual Salary**:$80,000 - $86,000
**Employment Contract**: Full-time Contract - Four Months Onboard
**Language**: English

**Position Summary**

The Abled Bodied Seaman participates in all jobs and tasks in connection with safety of own vessel or the other and/or persons and/or environment as directed by the person in charge. He/she must be familiar with all Company procedures, including the Safety Management System, applicable to appointed duties. He/she is the designated Helmsman and shall steer the ship in and out of ports or as directed by the OOW.

**Mandatory Qualifications and Experience**
- 3+ years experience as Able-Bodied Seaman on a Shuttle Tanker
- Watchkeeping Bridge Endorsement (COC)
- AB Seafarer Certificate of Competency
- STCW Basic Tanker Safety (Oil) Endorsement
- STCW Basic Safety
- STCW Survival craft other than a fast rescue craft
- STCW Ship Personnel with Designated Security Duties
- Knowledge of Dynamic Positioning Vessel operations
- Marine Medical Health Certificate
- Valid Passport
- Must pass Physical, Drug Screen, Alcohol Screening and Background /Pre-Employment Screening Checks.

**Responsibilities**
- Keeps watch as directed by the Bosun.
- Proficient in all mooring/rigging operations
- Proficient in the maintenance of deck equipment
- Taking part in emergency and occupational onboard training such as, the use of self-contained breathing apparatus, firefighting, and man overboard exercises.
- Skills including but not limited to seamanship, deck work experience, and proficient Helmsman.
- Demonstrate safety awareness
