**Essential Functions & Basic Duties**:The Personal Support Worker or Patient Transport Attendant will actively participate in the needs of non-ambulatory patients while providing safe transportation to and from medical and/or Long-Term Care facilities. Being responsible for all aspects of patient care during transportation, the PSW will operate multiple mobility devices (power load stretcher, stretcher, stair-chair, and other mobility devices to assist in the movement of patients). The PSW will monitor patients and provide basic care interventions should the need arise during transport to and from sending/receiving facilities in ambulance type vehicles. The PSW will also be responsible for documenting all pertinent information as related to the patient transfer, and other dealings throughout the course of their day in order assess the effectiveness of this service**.**

**Qualifications**:

- For PSW position a valid Personal Support Worker College Certificate
- Class “G” driver’s license
- Class “F” driver’s license considered an asset.
- Current driver’s license abstracts with no demerit points or loss of license in the previous three years.
- Current criminal records check (vulnerable sector)
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR level “C” (advanced certifications preferred)
- **Proof of vaccinations** or lab test if applicable.
- Free of communicable disease.
- Perform two person lifts and transfers, in a safe, smooth controlled manner, of patients weighing up to 95 kilograms (210 pounds) utilizing appropriate patient lifting equipment.
- Bilingualism English/French is considered an asset.

**Salary**:

- PTA Salary: $18.37 per hour in accordance with the pay scale as determined by the collective agreement with OPSEU 679
- PSW Salary: $22.04 per hour in accordance with the pay scale as determined by the collective agreement with OPSEU 679
