**Job Overview**
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Quality Control Lab Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that products meet quality standards through rigorous testing and inspection processes. You will play a crucial part in maintaining the integrity of our production processes and ensuring customer satisfaction by adhering to quality management protocols.

**Duties**
- Conduct start-up and in-process checks to ensure High Acid and/or Low Acid products produced from GBLC meet customer specifications. This includes verification for correct product, correct formulation, correct packaging, correct code, labels, production line checks and processing setting monitoring etc.
- Conduct paperwork check, chemical, organoleptic, and microbiological analysis for bulk materials to ensure specifications are met and issue acceptance notices.
- Conduct daily water analysis as per customer’s requirement.
- Conduct sanitation verification checks (cleaning solution strength, ATP swabs, Protein Swabs). Verify sanitations (CIP/Sterilization) records (forms and charts).
- Conduct production start-up/changeover check to ensure line is properly prepared for production/changeover.
- Issue batch sheets and verify completeness and accuracy.
- Prepare minor ingredients like vitamins, flavors, enzymes, etc. for batching.
- Performance physical, chemical, and organoleptic analysis for raw batches to ensure raw batches are released according to product specifications.
- Performance physical, chemical, and organoleptic analysis for finished products to ensure specification compliance.
- Monitor and enforcing on-line quality checks during production per specific requirements affecting product quality and food safety.
- Conduct bulk receiving ingredients and finished products sampling as per requirement.
- Initiate, maintain and resolve: ingredient, packaging or product QC Holds when needed.
- Complete quality control forms correctly and accurately.
- Understand of good laboratory practices
- Maintain and calibrate lab equipment.
- Monitor some plant chemical inventory and lab supply inventory.
- Autoclave filler machine parts as per production requirement.
- To be cross trained for QC (production Lines) and Micro lab work.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Report any issues affecting product quality and food safety to production supervisors or managers. To be innovative in coming up with solutions to problems. To advise your supervisor of improvements in your area or in the process.
- Assist and enforce in the implementation of policies and procedures relating to HACCP and GMP.
- Other duties as needed per the scope of Quality Control, Sanitation and /or Food Safety and Food Quality within the facility.
- 1. Understand of good laboratory practices, including Microbiological sampling and plating techniques.
- Conduct or assist air and water quality testing and assessments, environmental monitoring and protection activities and compliance with standards.
- Conduct Bio-Burden test for food contact packaging.
- Conduct or assist bottle rinser validation test.
- Conduct oil test for juice products.
- Perform accurate documentation of tests performed & results obtained.
- Communicate testing results and provide troubleshooting suggestions.
- Maintain media and reagents as needed for daily microbiological testing and production test as per required.
- Keep inventory and report expendable supplies/materials needed for testing requirements.
- Provide routine preventive maintenance by daily cleaning, sanitizing, and trash disposal.
- Other duties as needed per the scope of Quality Control, Sanitation and /or Food Safety and Food Quality within the facility.
- Perform and assist other duties as assigned.

**Knowledge, Skills & Education**
- 3 years of Experience in a similar role
- Post-secondary education in a related discipline
- Attention to accuracy and detail
- Ability to demonstrate analytical and organizational skills
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule
- Conducts microbiological analysis on raw materials and finished products.

Expected hours: 44 per week

Flexible language requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Work Location: In person
