Crisis/social Worker

**JOB SUMMARY**:
The Crisis Worker provides assessment, triage, treatment/discharge planning, crisis intervention, immediate trauma counseling to patients in psychiatric or psychosocial crisis in the Emergency Department.
**EXPERIENCE, SKILLS and ABILITIES**:
- MSW
- Membership in good standing with College
- Two to five years’ experience working with acute Mental Health illness
- Advanced crisis assessment, high risk screening, knowledge of community resources and the Mental Health Act
- Crisis intervention experience/NVCI certificate
- Knowledge of addictions
- Ability to rapidly change workload priorities
- Demonstrated excellence in communication, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated problem assessment skills
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service and teamwork
- Demonstrated individual leadership skills
