Queens Association for Supported Living is a non-profit organization which provides life enhancement opportunities to people with disabilities. We are currently recruiting for a Vocational Program Instructor at Penny Lane Enterprises.

**Job Scope and Purpose**:
Under the general direction of the Vocational Manager, the Program Instructor works within a team in support of the successful operation of vocational services, providing choice and opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Areas of opportunities include (but not limited to) training and skill development, volunteerism, recreational/social and wage-based employment. The Program Instructor assists with the assessment of personal outcomes, training and skill development as well as providing ongoing support to ensure a high quality of service to participants and high quality of products for our customers. This current opening is part-time (35 hours per week) to cover a maternity leave.

**Qualifications**:

- Diploma in Disability Supports and Services or equivalent is considered an asset
- Experience supporting people with disabilities
- Effective communication skills
- Willingness to learn and grow both professionally and personally
- Ability to work well both independently and within a team
- Recent suitable Criminal Record check and Vulnerable Sector search
- Grade 12
- Valid driver’s license and clean Drivers Abstract
- Program specific experience considered an asset (Woodshop/contracts/food service)

On the job training and ongoing certification will be provided by QASL. Competitive wages start at $23.23 (after Core Competency certification provided by QASL) with annual increments.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: From $23.23 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
