Business Systems Analyst

**Responsibilities**:
- Communicate with business analysts to understand/define business needs and document workflows.- Convert business requirements into functional specifications.- Partner with the system architect and programmer analysts to build systems and solutions that fit business requirements.- Liaise with the wider IT teams to coordinate interdependencies and resolve issues.- Produce quality test plans and manage all aspects of system and user testing.- Collaborate within a Scrum team and coach junior members of the team.- Assist project managers to develop accurate project timelines and provide status updates.

**Skills**:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.- Proven ability to efficiently utilize resources and work collaboratively in a team.- Able to multi-task and manage multiple projects as well as changing priorities.- Detailed-oriented and a demonstrated ability to make independent decisions.- Proficiency in SQL, sufficient to analyze data and investigate stored procedures written in Transact SQL.- Familiarity with Linux/Unix based operating systems.

**Experience**:
- 8-10 years in business analysis and systems design within the financial industry.- Financial services industry knowledge, with a focus on asset management is preferred.- Working knowledge of an investment management system is ideal (e.g. Charles River IMS)- Experience in report development, design techniques, and use of report development tools such as Microsoft Report Builder (SSRS) or similar reporting tools.- Experience in report development, design techniques, and use of report development tools such as Microsoft Report Builder (SSRS) or similar reporting tools.- Broad background in trading, including but not limited to, execution management systems, order management systems, settlements, market data, etc.- SDLC and Agile development framework experience is favourable, but not essential.

Required Education/Training:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Business or Computer Science.- Financial courses like CSC/CFA are an asset.

Working Conditions:
- Hybrid work model.- Occasional overtime work is required.
