NEC Native Education College is a large private Indigenous college in Vancouver and also works with First
Nations and Aboriginal organizations to deliver programs in locations throughout British Columbia. NEC works to strengthen Indigenous communities through offering programs that lead to employment and higher learning.

The Indigenous Early Childhood Education (IECE) Department is seeking part-time, Casual Instructors for the following courses in the IECE Certificate and Diploma programs:
ECE 112: Child Growth & Development 2 ECE 125: Practicum Seminar 2
ECE 121: Family & Community Relations ECE 280: Indigenous Health Care
ECE 227: Working with Families ECE 287: Practices in Supported Childcare
ECE 123: Language & Literacy ECE 288: Alternative & Augmented Communication
ECE 116: Block Practicum 1 ECE 281: SNE Block Practicum
- ECE 226: Field Observations 2

Position Summary
- Plan, prepare and deliver weekly in-person classroom instruction from 9am-4pm based on course outline and supporting materials
- Submit lesson plans to Program Manager and upload all teaching materials to SharePoint regularly
- Communicate and update Program Manager on course delivery and student participation
- Update and maintain course Moodle shell (Moodle experience is an asset but training and support will be provided)
- Prepare, administer, and mark tests and assignments to assess students’ progress toward meeting learning objectives, as well as supervise and organize course-related independent or group projects and field trips as needed
- Attend teaching team meeting when scheduled

**Qualifications**:
A combination of education and work experience as follows will be considered:

- License to practice (ECE, ECEA, IT, SNE), Bachelor or Masters degree in Early Childhood Education

(ECE) or related discipline
- Recent experience in the field of ECE, family policy, or child development
- Familiar with and experience using the BC Early Learning Framework and pedagogical narration
- Familiarity with First Peoples Principles of Learning is an asset
- Teaching experience, preferably in a post-secondary environment
- Knowledge of Indigenous values, communities, and instructional methodology

**Terms**:

Start / End Date: January 2023 - April 2023
Hours: 5 hrs/week/class, plus non-contact time

**Salary**: $32.53/hour
