Communicative Disorders Assistant

SPARK Pediatric Services is a private practice in the Durham Region serving children/youth and their families. SPARK offers a variety of therapies and services to meet children's unique needs
**Location**: Services may be offer at SPARK’s Whitby clinic (413 Dundas Street E - Unit 4) or SPARK’s Oshawa clinic (194 King Street W).
**Hours of work**: Flexible; some evenings or weekends is preferred.
**Responsibilities and Duties**:
- Providing CDA services, including group-based and 1:1 treatment and consultation
- Accessing the supervision and guidance of the qualified supervising SLP on a regular basis and as required
- Completing administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments, collecting payment, utilizing SPARK’s electronic charting system, and communicating with SPARK’s intake coordinator, as required
- Adhering to SPARK’s policies and procedures
**Qualifications and Skills**:
- Eligible for full membership with the Communicative Disorders Assistants Association of Canada (CDAAC), preferred
- Diploma or degree with emphasis on social sciences, human services, or health sciences
- Post-graduate certificate in Communicative Disorders Assistant
- Experience working with the pediatric population, including children and youth on the autism spectrum and with other developmental needs
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Takes initiative and works well independently
- Recent Vulnerable Sector Screening
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
