We are searching for a dedicated and passionate individual to join our Health, Safety & Wellness team at Toronto Community Housing As the Human Resources Assistant (Health, Safety & Wellness) you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Health Safety and Wellness Unit in a manner that support's TCHC's tenant focused culture.

Reporting to the Manager of Health and Safety, you will work to support health and safety and disability management staff and programs. Your efforts will ensure that staff are engaged in physically and psychologically safe and healthy work supporting Toronto Community Housing's ambitious plan to improve the neighborhoods and lives of Toronto Community Housing tenants.

**What you’ll do**
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive filing system
- Create and maintain paper and electronic files and records for both occupational and non-occupational disability claims.
- Provide administrative support to the Health, Safety & Wellness Unit.
- Perform a variety of administrative functions including but not limited to photocopying, filing, retrieving and distributing mail and incoming correspondence, purchasing supplies and services, scheduling meetings, and preparing correspondence.
- Prepare and distribute reports, correspondence, meeting minutes and other documents as assigned.
- Regularly deal with highly confidential and sensitive information.

**What you’ll need**
- Post-Secondary education in Human Resources or College certificate or diploma in Human Resources or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to work well in a team setting as well as self-directed when necessary
- 1-2 years progressive administrative experience or an equivalent combination of related work experience and post-secondary education in a relevant field (human resources, disability management, health and safety).
- Experience working in disability management or health and safety is an asset.
- Proficiency in the use of a variety of software packages including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Human Resource Information Systems to prepare correspondence, documents and generate reports
- Ability to understand and comply with relevant legislation, regulations, guidelines and standards including, but not limited to, the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, Employment Standards Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, Labour Relations Act, and Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act
- Excellent customer service skills to respond to enquiries from a variety of internal and external stakeholders on a daily basis
- Superior time management skills and an ability to multi-task and deal effectively with competing demands
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate respectfully with internal and external clients on a daily basis
