**Who we are**: Corporate Finance is a division of Finance, committed to maximizing the value of financial planning with a fixed control on long term financial strategic viewpoints and execution for the Region of Peel. There are five service groups within Corporate Finance: Financial Policy and Development Financing, Accounting Services, Loss Management and Insurance Services, Financial Systems Development Support, and Peel Housing Corporation Finance.

In this role you will Manage a team of 1 direct report and 3 indirect reports.

**What you will do in this role**:
**Our Corporate Finance team has an exciting opportunity for a Manager, Financial Support to join their team and work with the Peel Living client group in the Human Services Department.**
- Peel Living is the Region of Peel's non-profit housing company. Also known as Peel Housing Corporation, it operates as an independent Corporation of the Region of Peel and is administered by the Region's Human Services department. Peel Living is a recognized leader in creating innovative housing solutions. It is the largest landlord in the Region of Peel and the third largest social housing provider in Ontario. Peel Living provides home to over 7,100 residents in our 70 sites._

This position plays an integral role in supporting the client departmental Leadership Team in achieving their objectives and supporting operations. You will provide strategic financial leadership and recommendations to the General Manager-Peel Living and the Leadership Team on program financial performance, operating and capital planning and business analysis. The position will assist Peel Living leadership to effectively and efficiently execute program and corporate strategic deliverables.

You will be accountable to provide the overall financial stewardship for Peel Living ($108 million operating budget and $104 million Capital Plan), which includes the coordination of the ongoing corporate financial requirements within Peel Living, through the direct management of a centralized financial services area. It will involve supporting and negotiating with Housing Services funding to support the development of new projects, financial and business analysis skills to support program development of Board Reports and lastly develop, recommend and administer the budget for the PHC Finance Team ($670,000) and ensure that the expenditures are controlled and maintained within approved budget limitations.

Lastly, utilizing your finance knowledge, you will ensure an effective asset management system is in place that will ensure a state of good repair and sustainable long term financial plan. You will mitigate risk and critical issues, as well as work in partnership with Internal Audit to track necessary financial control processes and ensure they are implemented and maintained.

**What the role requires**:

- Relevant University degree (e.g. Finance, Accounting, Masters Business Administration) combined with a professional accounting designation
- 5 - 8 years progressive financial management experience or relevant experience in non-profit housing
- Excellent knowledge of financial management, accounting and performance measurement
- Leadership experience
- Combination of education and experience may be considered
