**About Our Opportunity**:
As the Technical Specialist - F5-BigIP, you will be reporting to the Manager of Operations within the User Centered Technology and Cyber Security division of Nova Scotia Digital Services.

This opportunity is seeking an individual to work within the Firewall team as a BIG-IP Administrator capable of managing pre-existing BIG-IP installations and investigating preliminary fault isolations. They must have the ability to make necessary configuration changes and modify BIG-IP objects.

**Primary Accountabilities**:
The primary responsibility of a Technical Specialist, F5 BIG-IP, is to identify BIG-IP Traffic Processing Objects. They assist in managing load balance traffic and viewing statistics and logs. They further configure virtual servers, pools and monitor BIG-IP configuration states and files. Administrators must understand traffic management shell hierarchical structures and their navigation. A through understanding of certificate management, Proxy services, IP mapping and DNS is required. They are also responsible for troubleshooting and determining problems using various diagnostic tools.

Additionally, the Technical Specialist - F5 BigIP may be required to provide backup support to other members within the Firewall team.

This position will be required to provide after hours on-call support.

**Qualifications and Experience**:
In addition, you have:

- Advanced knowledge or experience in a F5-BigIP
- _Ability to solve problems, make decisions and/or recommendations_
- _Analytical skills to convert business requirements into business cases._
- _Ability to interview, facilitate working groups and develop strong relationships_
- _Knowledge and experience with change management._

The following will be considered assets:

- Relevant network certifications would be considered an asset.

We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.
