Job Summary

This position s primary purpose is to assist Clinical Research Coordinators in preparing and executing patient Clinical trial visits.

Due to the nature of the work, remote work is not suitable for this position. The incumbent is expected to work from the office.

Organizational Status

This position will report to a Clinical Coordinator, who ultimately reports to Dr. Blair Leavitt, who is the Director of Research.

Work Performed

Under the direct supervision and direction of the Clinical Research Coordinator(s):

- Perform study-related assessments with research participants as required
- Record data from study visits accurately and entered on an online database in a timely fashion
- Prepare for research study visits by printing and organizing visit documentation, locating visit-specific lab kits, preparing study-specific ECG machine, setting up study-specific computers/tablets, and any other visit specific preparations
- Follow standard protocols for receiving and storing study drug, ordering dry ice, and shipping study samples as required
- Other duties as required to facilitate study visits and keep study-related equipment up to date
- Work independently and assists the Clinical Research Coordinator to coordinate the ENROLL-HD study, which includes the following tasks:

- Contact current participants to confirm and/or schedule yearly study visits as well as follow up after study visits if necessary
- Contact potential and/or new participants when they are referred to the ENROLL-HD research staff by the clinical team
- Liaise with study monitors to schedule and facilitate monitoring visits
- Participate in monthly site-wide teleconferences and study update meetings
- Perform study-related assessments and/or coordinate other study staff to administer assessments as needed
- Enter study visit data answer on an online database and answer data queries
- Other tasks related to ENROLL-HD as required, including maintaining equipment, ordering supplies, keeping documentation files up to date, and implementing study updates.
- Assist in Ethics Application/Renewal preparation
- Perform other duties as required.

Consequence of Error/Judgement

The work described follows established protocols and techniques. The position requires strong organizational and communication skills.

Accuracy and attention to detail are extremely important. Errors could both comprise the privacy of the study participants and/or the scientific integrity of the project.

Supervision Received

Employee will be supervised and mentored by the Research Coordinator, who in turn reports to the Research Director, Dr. Blair Leavitt.

High school graduation, some additional training in a related field and a minimum two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
