**Job Overview**

The Quality Control Specialist will join the team at our concrete batch plant and will be responsible for ensuring that all concrete produced adheres to CSA A23.1 and A23.2 specifications. Additionally, the Quality Control Specialist will be responsible for creating and amending concrete mix designs to meet project requirements. This is a vital role in our organization, and we are looking for someone with a strong background in quality control and concrete production.

**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Perform routine quality control tests on raw materials such as aggregates, cement, and admixtures to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Conduct regular inspections of the concrete batch plant equipment and processes to identify any potential issues or areas for improvement.
- Monitor and document all quality control measurements, including slump tests, air content, and temperature of fresh concrete.
- Review all incoming test reports and certificates of compliance for raw materials and ensure they meet project requirements.
- Create and amend concrete mix designs based on project specifications, ensuring the optimal mix proportions are achieved.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to provide technical support and advice on concrete mix designs.
- Conduct periodic audits and inspections of the concrete batch plant to ensure compliance with CSA A23.1 and A23.2 specifications.
- Train and mentor plant personnel on quality control procedures, ensuring that all employees are aware of and follow proper protocols.
- Investigate any quality issues or complaints related to concrete production, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, new technologies, and advancements in concrete production to continuously improve quality control processes.

**Qualifications and Skills**
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a quality control role within the concrete industry.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of CSA A23.1 and A23.2 specifications.
- Proven experience in creating and amending concrete mix designs based on project requirements.
- Familiarity with various testing methods and equipment used in quality control for concrete production.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve quality issues.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with project stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to concrete production.

**Salary**: $80,000.00-$120,000.00 per year

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)
