About this Position

We are looking for Bilingual Individual Life Underwriter to join our Underwriting Dept.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Communicate with agents, doctors, MIB and paramedical companies
- Communicate and work effectively with company re-insurer
- Provide assistance to the Customer Service Department on Underwriting-related matters
- Provide exemplary customer service to Field Representatives
- Contribute to a positive environment through team work and continuous professional development
- Other miscellaneous duties as assigned

QUALIFICATION:

- Post-secondary education or equivalent knowledge and skills acquired through related work experience
- Minimum of 3-5 years of underwriting experience in Individual Life insurance
- Actively pursuing either LOMA or ALU courses or designation
- FLMI or FALU would be an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work as required
- Excellent team building skills, positive influence and flexibility
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Strong analytical and technical underwriting skills
- Excellent problem solving and decision making skills, including attention to details
- Extensive knowledge of medical and non-medical terminology and impairments
- Proficient in MS Office
