**Job Title**: Plain Clothes Security Guard

**Assignment Type**: Retail Environment

**Location**: Woodstock, Ontario

**Job Type**: Part-Time

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Conduct undercover patrols of the retail premises to identify and mitigate potential security threats.
- Monitor and operate advanced security systems, including CCTV and electronic article surveillance (EAS) systems, discreetly.
- Respond promptly to incidents of theft or emergency, effectively implementing use of force when absolutely necessary.
- Enforce access controls and security protocols subtly to maintain high safety standards.
- Utilize conflict resolution and nonviolent communication techniques to de-escalate confrontational situations with suspected shoplifters without revealing your security role.
- Assist customers and employees, providing support and information in a professional manner while maintaining your undercover status.
- Maintain detailed logs of all security incidents, focusing on observations that could help reduce shrink and improve store safety.

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience in loss prevention or security within a retail environment.
- Certification in security operations and emergency response, with specific training in handling theft and detention situations involving use of handcuffs and knowledge of legal guidelines for detaining shoplifters.
- Strong skills in conflict resolution, nonviolent communication, and crisis de-escalation.
- Physically fit to perform frequent patrols and respond quickly to incidents.
- Reliable and capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a security team.
- Keen observational skills and attention to detail, with an ability to identify behaviors indicative of shoplifting.
