**GENERAL FUNCTION**:
Reporting to the Managing Director of the Furniture Bank by Redwood, this position will be part of a multi-faceted team overseeing the creation and operation of safe, affordable, hopeful housing and fostering supportive community.

This role is responsible for the day to day activities of the Furniture Bank warehouse, including the organization and handling of inventory in a way that is safe and cautious, considering the whole needs of clients, and supporting the mission of Redwood, fostering hope through housing.

**SPECIFIC DUTIES & DETAILS**:

- The following duties are typical for this position. Incumbents may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to meet organizational needs._

**Warehouse Worker**:

- Safely moving furniture as a team in various locations, including: the warehouse, to and from trucks / trailers, and into homes
- Packing furniture orders for pick-up
- Evaluating quality and safety of furniture donations
- Working as a team to find creative solutions to logístical problems
- Minor furniture repairs, assembling of furniture & potentially the upcycling of furniture
- Maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the work environment
- Assisting clients with the selection of furniture in-house
- Assisting in furniture deliveries to clients who may experience social barriers, such as disability, health challenges, etc.
- Assisting furniture clients in set-up of furniture and aftercare support
- Staging, photographing and uploading furniture to online store
- Conducting inventory of items and reporting on the health of each area (ie. low stock)
- Coordinating and overseeing volunteer tasks
- Tasks related to donor and client stewardship
- Other tasks as assigned by Managing Director
- Attending all required team meetings
- From time to time, perform other duties to fulfill the mandate of the organization

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Education or training in social sciences such as social work, and or trades such as contracting considered an asset
- Experience with low-income housing communities or populations that experience barriers to housing
- Experience with warehousing and inventory
- Sensitivity and respect for individual and cultural differences
- English, other languages such as French, Spanish and Arabic may be of benefit but not required
- Ability to lift furniture up to 90 lbs
- CPR or First Aid training and asset
- Driver’s license an asset, G2 or advanced

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Steel toed boots
- Up-to-date VSC

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 9 weeks

**Salary**: $20.70 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- No weekends

Work Location: In person
