- **What does the Finance department look like?**

Bench's Financial Reporting team builds and maintains the systems and processes that enables Bench to operate efficiently day-to-day, as well as provide key financial data that helps drive Bench's success and growth. Being a member of this team means you'll play an integral role in increasing the efficiency and efficacy of our day-to-day operations, month end close, and financial reporting. We've done some heavy lifting already but, there is still a lot to build and scale. You'll be relied on to identify areas where we can improve as we continue to grow.

Reporting to our Manager, Payroll Accounting, you'll be a key contributor from day one, and you'll learn all the in's and outs of how a finance team at a tech company operates.

**What you'll get up to**:

- Manage the payroll inbox, including monitoring and responding to internal inquiries
- Field support tickets submitted to the Payroll team via our issue tracking tool, Jira
- Review reimbursement claims in our expense management system, Expensify, and prepare them for processing
- Administer and maintain Record of Employment forms in a timely manner
- Audit TD1 forms for new hires and current employees and own conversations surrounding forms that need to be updated throughout the year
- Manage payroll data administration in UltiPro, including direct deposit/banking changes, tax documents, termination/departure dates
- Undertake ad-hoc payroll tasks administration and small projects
- Assist with calculations and prep tasks for our Canadian pay runs
- Administer the variable pay submissions and approvals process
- Manage leave of absence cases administration and calculations
- Book routine month-end payroll entries (simple cash entries and core JEs)
- Maintain small Balance Sheet accounts (monthly and quarterly reconciliations)
- Work closely with our Payroll Specialists to continuously improve our processes

**What you'll need**:

- Experience in accounting, payroll, or human resource functions (co-ops are great)
- Superb communication skills
- Exceptionally well organized and highly attentive to detail
- Proven ability to assess and improve processes
- Strong integrity and desire to help internal and external business partners meet their needs

**It could be an even better fit if you**:

- Experience with Ultimate Software, Expensify and NetSuite is a bonus
- Plans to enrol in the National Payroll Institute PCP program (or already working towards it)
