Reporting to the Senior Vice-President, the RVP, Store Operations is responsible for driving the successful operations and achieving sales and profit objectives for all RONA inc. retail stores having a broad range of geographic and market characteristics. To accomplish this, the RVP executes the overall company mission and strategy and establishes a regional strategy that addresses the various districts within the region. The RVP must carefully analyze districts in their region, create specific plans to address needs and opportunities, and execute those plans through continuous drive, persistence, and inspiration of others.

**Key Duties & Responsibilities**
- Meet or exceed sales and profit goals by translating corporate strategy throughout the region and by ensuring every employee understands their impact on driving sales and responsibility in delivering that strategy
- Be a role model and a champion for the company culture
- Develop a localized strategy that effectively addresses the needs of the region while remaining consistent with the overall strategy and brand of RONA
- Establish the key priorities for focus and communicate those priorities throughout the region to ensure the alignment of the region with overall company strategy and focus of the workforce on the achievement of key performance metrics while increasing sales
- Demonstrate knowledge of internal business trends and anticipate product, marketing, and event needs well in advance to maximize sales opportunities
- Plan and oversee the execution of all corporate programs designed to drive sales and service in the stores
- Actively seek out barriers to store sales performance and make necessary decisions to remove those barriers
- Anticipate future sales and service opportunities and participate in the development of initiatives aimed at responding to those opportunities in a proactive manner
- Hold district managers accountable for achieving objectives while also helping them understand the intent and inspiring them to drive for results on their own
- Inspire the staff throughout the region to deliver region specific and company results at or above plan on a consistent basis. Inspire a consistent work ethic and focus on results throughout the region even when unable to be onsite with every store regularly
- Set clear and measurable goals for districts, follow up on performance, and hold others accountable for attaining those goals
- Continuously monitor the sales performance and profitability of plans and programs throughout the region and adjust when needed
- Act as a sponsor and agent for change as the company changes and evolve in the way it does business
- Study and analyze individual districts within the region and develop merchandising and sales plans that take advantage of opportunities identified in each in a proactive manner
- Proactively seek out information and data and develop new and effective approaches to capitalize on the opportunities in each of the districts for which they are responsible
- Review financial statements, sales and operating reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and/or program improvement
- Attract and develop talented and diverse leaders to drive overall sales and profitability performance within the region
- Work constantly to stretch, challenge and develop district managers and other leaders throughout the region in an effort to keep the leadership pipeline flowing
- Leverage corporate, regional, district, and store resources to effectively set and execute strategy, drive sales, and increase profitability
- Work across functional areas, specifically with peers in the Merchandising and Supply Chain functions, to ensure the selection and availability of quality products to the customers at a competitive price based on district demands

**Qualification Standards**
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (preferred)
- At least 10 years of operations management expe
