**Pay Band**: $56,500 to $66,500

**POSITION OVERVIEW**

The Hospitality Manager is responsible for monitoring, managing, and improving the efficiency, productivity, and profitability of CSSI’s food service and catering operations.

The Hospitality Manager also provides supervision and direction to food service staff and supervisors in the operation of CSSI’s food service establishments. In carrying out supervisory responsibilities, the Hospitality Manager must cultivate and maintain a diverse and inclusive environment in which the variety of participants’ backgrounds, experiences, places of origin, racial/ethnic identities, sexual identities, gender, ages, and more are heard, respected, and valued by everyone.

This position reports directly to the Sr. Manager, Food & Hospitality. In carrying out the duties of this position, a great deal of responsibility is exercised with final overview by the Sr. Manager, Food & Hospitality. It is also important that the Hospitality Manager works extremely closely with the Sr. Manager, Food & Hospitality to ensure that they are up to date on the basic overall operations of CSSI’s restaurants. In all activities, it is crucial that the Hospitality Manager recognizes that service to students is a top priority.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

**Management of Staff**
- Day-to-day management of Food Services Supervisors, full-time staff, and student staff in our food service establishments
- Management includes motivation of staff, conducting performance reviews, suggesting rates of pay within budgets, managing performance, and terminating when needed in conjunction with the Sr. Manager, Food & Hospitality and Human Resources
- Ensure training and certification is created and provided to all new and current restaurant staff, including (but not limited to): Smart Serve, Safe Food Handling, Safe Knife Handling, job-specific health & safety, cooking, serving, online ordering
- Ensure copies of Smart Serve certifications are located behind the bar and provided to HR
- Ensure staff members are providing quality customer service and food services to all restaurant guests
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate staff meetings

**Management of Food Service Operations**
- Oversee all food service operations at all campuses to ensure top performance
- Responsible for managing all catering requests and developing a catering growth plan
- Develop and implement strategies and recommendations to improve profitability within food service outlets and catering
- Maintain current knowledge and expertise in trends, legislation, and licensing requirements of the food services industry
- Ensure CSSI’s food service operations and projects are aligned with strategic priorities and goals
- Assist in the implementation and administration of online ordering operations at all restaurants
- Conduct inventory checks monthly to ensure overall accuracy of ongoing counts
- Ensure inventory orders are placed on time, received properly, and that there is always adequate stock
- Assist in purchasing and acquiring equipment, small wares, supplies, and stock for daily restaurant operations, including submitting proper purchase request forms
- Submit financial invoices and cheque requisitions in a timely manner
- Liaise with suppliers and sales representatives
- Ensure the collection of weekly/monthly service counts, submitting reports to the Sr. Manager, Food & Hospitality as required
- Ensure guest feedback is collected and reported to the Sr. Manager, Food & Hospitality on a regular basis
- Report findings of problems within the food service areas to the Sr. Manager, Food & Hospitality and Joint Health and Safety Committee as required
- Collaborate with the Marketing department to develop high-quality, creative, planned, and measurable campaigns for CSSI’s food service operations
- Assist in the implementation of a catering and food services event plan for CSSI

**Other General Duties**
- Work in accordance with corporate by-laws, policies, and procedures, particularly to the CSI Mission Statement
- Adhere strictly to health & safety laws, policies and procedures concerning health & safety, accessibility, etc.
- Maintain confidentiality for business practices
- Mandatory attendance at CSSI related training days
- Complete organizational/special projects as assigned by the Sr. Manager, Human Resources
- Other duties as assigned
