**What do you need to be successful?**
- A University Degree in Kinesiology or equivalent
- Knowledge of the rehabilitation approach to client care and the roles of OT, PT and SLP
- Experience with rehabilitation services (hospital, clinic, community), pool therapy and/or personal training certifications are all assets
- Excellent computer skills (i.e. ability to work in MS Word and Outlook)
- Great interpersonal skills and the proven ability to work with different personality types
- A valid Driver’s Licence and access to a vehicle

Please note you will be fully supported by Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech Language Pathologists, Social Workers and other allied health professionals.

**What is a day in the life of a FA Rehabilitation Assistant?**
- Providing 1:1 Kinesiology assessment and active rehab treatment sessions in client's home, work, gym, pool, or school settings, fully supported by Registered Occupational Therapists.
- Facilitating treatment sessions focused on goals such as community re-integration, independence with activities of daily living and return to meaningful activities, supervised by Occupational Therapists.
- Helping clients integrate mental health coping strategies, energy conservation principles and pain management techniques into their daily life.
- Introducing yoga practice into client’s rehabilitation treatments.
- Working with clients on cognitive remediation and introducing compensatory strategies into their daily lives.
- Displaying a growth mindset to increasing skills and knowledge in treatments to address emotional, physical and cognitive challenges.
- Communicating with colleagues to nurture a culture of information sharing and support.
- Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational days; training sessions, and establishing personal networks
